Description |
Looking up Bartlet Street to the South. Seen at the left: the Stowe House, at that time part of the Phillips Inn on Chapel Avenue. Later moved to present location on Bartlet Street opposite Wheeler Street. In the center the spire of Stone Chapel (originally built for the Andover Theological Seminary), later razed and replaced by the Cochran Chapel on Chapel Avenue. The photograph was taken before the Phillips Academy Chapel was replaced. |
