Scope & Content |
Set of plans for the proposed remodelling of the Frye Village Hall. Plans written prior to the move of the hall to Balmoral Street in 1921 and detail remodelling work to be carried out after the move. Consists of 20 sheets, 4 sheets of specifications and 16 drawings- elevations, floor plans, detailed drawings of porticos, windows, cornice, brackets and railings. Shows "present" floor plans and elevations as well as proposed. Work scope includes removal of partitions on the lower floor of the building, removal of old chimneys and building of new boiler chimney. Entire new basement is to be built and other additions. Plans seem to show two options. The first has retail stores on the 1st floor and in the basement, a hall on the second floor. Second option shows locker rooms and showers in basement, store on 1st floor and gymnasium on 2nd floor. Revision on page 4 notes that boiler house is to be omitted. It appears that this work was not carried out. 2017.089.2 shows plans for conversion of the hall into a 2 family home. Label on plan read " 35.G Wm M Wood Town Hall" |
